My child's doctor said she is due for the HPV vaccine. What is that for?

The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a virus that is contracted though sex and can lead to genital warts and an increased risk of cervical cancer in women and penile cancer in men. The HPV virus is very common and does not present with symptoms often. Protect yourself from the HPV virus by discussing vaccination with your health care provider. The Gardisil vaccine protects against several strains of the HPV virus including the strains that cause genital warts and cancer. It is recommended that all individuals start receiving Gardisil at age 11 or 12. Older teens and young adults who have not received the vaccine can still do so and are recommended to have it before the age of 26.

Call us today to schedule an appointment for the Gardisil vaccine!
